This year, Good Friday will be celebrated on 2nd of April. Also known as Black Friday, it is one of the most important holidays for the Christians. As per the ancient texts, Jesus Christ was imprisoned and was taken to the house of Annas. There, he was interrogated for several hours, by the priests who were not pleased with his answer. This resulted in his imprisonment by Caiaphas - the priest who planned the entire plot to crucify Jesus Christ.
Jesus was brought before the Roman Governor Pontius Pilate, who failed to find any crime or charge against Jesus Christ and chose to release him. This angered the chief priests, who demanded the death of Jesus Christ, since he considered himself as the "God's Son".
While Jesus claimed to be innocent, he surrendered himself to the public in anticipation of riots. With this, the "Stations of Cross" walk began, with Jesus carrying the cross accompanied by Simon of Cyrene, and he was crucified in "The Place of Skull" named "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews."
His suffering is said to have lasted for six hours until his soul eventually left his mortal body. His body was respectfully wrapped and placed in the tomb. It was after three days that he resurrected from the dead. Since then, Good Friday is celebrated every year before Easter.
